Neoshin returns with Distant Love, a mesmerising continuation of the Neoshin saga that blends emotional storytelling with stunning cinematic craft. Directed by Sebastian Selg, the film explores the fractured boundary between virtual perfection and human reality, brought to life entirely through traditional VFX without the use of AI.
Set in the aftermath of the invention of Cryonic Reality, the story follows influencer Ayuko as she confronts a glitch that severs her from the utopian world she once escaped to. What unfolds is a haunting reflection on isolation, identity and resilience in a world where digital dreams have replaced time itself.
Visually, Distant Love is breathtaking. Selg’s mastery of visual effects and his background in film and animation are evident in every meticulously crafted frame. The interplay of real and virtual spaces feels tangible, evoking both beauty and unease — a testament to the artistry of human creation in an age obsessed with artificiality.
Having worked on projects for Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott and major productions like Stranger Things and Glass Onion, Selg brings that expertise to Distant Love in a way that feels immersive.
