Kojey Radical’s “Don’t Look Down” is a narrative-driven video about pressure, identity, and the cost of success. Directed by Relta with production by The Corner Shop, the video avoids real-world locations, instead unfolding within controlled interior sets that feel deliberately contained.
The spaces are minimal and studio-built, shifting gradually rather than fully changing. As Kojey moves through them, the transitions feel less like scene changes and more like a continuous journey, keeping the focus on his state of mind rather than any physical setting.
The structure of the video adds to this. It moves between performance and scenes with dialogue, slowly opening out into something closer to a short film. That shift gives the piece a rhythm of its own, allowing the narrative to build without losing the energy of the track.
Cinematographer Billy Kendall uses steady tracking movement, often moving laterally, to carry us from one space to the next. The motion is simple but effective, creating a sense of flow that ties everything together. It’s this combination of movement, structure, and restraint that gives the video its weight, holding the tension between ambition and pressure all the way through.
