Henry Coke’s “I Want To Feel It In My Heart”, directed by Martyn Thomas with cinematography by Olli Collins, is a beautifully atmospheric music video about faith, and the distance between wanting to believe in something and actually being able to feel it.
Much of that emotion comes through the cinematography. Henry Coke is surrounded by fog and mist that seem to swallow the landscape around him, turning the environment into an extension of his own uncertainty.
The video does not try to explain the song or resolve its questions. Instead, it gives Henry space to simply exist within them. There is a patience and precision to the direction that allows those questions to remain unresolved, which feels entirely right for a song built around faith and the desire to believe.
